Loaves and Fishes Community Meal is a Logan UT non-profit that sponsors 2 free community lunches each month, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. We are a multi-denominational organization and our meals are held at the First Presbyterian Church in Logan UT. Though we are not affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church (or any other church), they are a a terrific support for Loaves and Fishes and they have the best kitchen in the valley!
The purpose of these meals is to feed those who may be hungry but even more, to provide a place for community interaction and friendship. We are currently seeking volunteers who will show up before a meal or after a meal and coordinate the meal volunteers in setting up or cleaning up after the meal. At each meal there is a different group of volunteers so we need a leader to manage the setup and cleanup and to lend consistency and confidence to each group.
Setup includes arranging and cleaning tables and chairs for about 120 people as well as other tables as needed. Supporting tasks as well. The cleanup entails cleaning off tables, putting tables and chairs away and performing all necessary sweeping and mopping and emptying garbage. We are looking for someone who smiles and laughs and enjoys being around caring people. We would want you to choose either the setup or cleanup for a meal usually once each month, though you could do it twice in a month if you’d like. We are looking for 4 volunteers to share the workload. Setup is from 10 am to around noon and cleanup is from 12:30 to around 2:30.
